#DayEarthSmiled – Christine Rueter

Smile

I am somewhere in the frame

not even a speck
within a blur
within a pixel

with a look
that is not
nostalgic
or whimsical

but rather
the straight stare
of a woman who has seen
this arc of sky before

and considers it home

a subject who is too chummy
with the photographer

and cannot be caught by surprise

and is now focusing
on the blur
just beyond
the lens

if she can just
make it out.
