I could say that I fell in love with astronomy at the ripe-young age of 8 and that would be true, but I’d be lying if I didn’t add that I didn’t really know that love until I stood atop Cerro Pachón in Chile and truly saw the sky for the first time. Having experienced that truly dark night sky I had to express that wonder to anyone that I could in any way that I could. So I chose to write about it.
My hope is that someone, somewhere will just happen across this blog one day and because of something they read here their perspective about the night (really, science) will change for the better. Of course, if they come across that realization in any way I am more than happy, because after all, my main goal is just to have lovers and dreamers standing beside me enjoying the mystery above and around us.
I am a graduate of the University of Arkansas with a degree in both physics and English. Now I work with the University of Arizona as an Education/Outreach Coordinator for the Center for Integrated Access Networks.
